Description
My name is Jason Brandos and am the original owner of this game. I won it for the whole state of Wisconsin, and for finishing 4th in the competition in 1990. It works great and has given me many memories of my childhood. The game is very clean and well taken care of. Especially since it is almost 20 years old.  The number on the game is 0090. I will be putting up more pictures soon. I now have a family of my own and the bills are adding up. Please only serious bidders. Must have at least a FB of greater than 50, unless you contact me ahead of time. If the bid goes over $9,500.00, I will include a free brand new working nintendo with some of my old games like zelda, metroid, castlevania, etc..20 games in all. It does break my heart to see these great items go up for sale but good luck to whom ever is the winner. God Bless and thanks for looking. Jason Brandos ---Here are some articles I found online: Video game collecting is really nothing new. There are numerous examples around the internet of huge Nintendo game collections that take up whole rooms, if not houses. This collection however will focus not on quantity but instead quality. This is a collection of the most uncommon Nintendo games that while many people haven’t heard of, serious collectors start drooling just thinking about. It may be handy to cut this out and put it in your wallet for when you are out and about at garage sales and/or flea markets. It was recently reported that someone was able to buy a bunch of unreleased game prototypes for the original NES system at a garage sale for a few bucks - with the resulting auction expected to reach into the thousands at least. Please note that this list is by no means comprehensive and we would love to hear from you about glaring ommisions below. Well, enjoy! Another article from WIKI   For the competition, 116 special game cartridges were manufactured. 90 of these copies exist in a grey cartridge and were given out to semi-finalists of the 1990 NWC. 26 of these cartridges are gold - like the Legend of Zelda cartridge - and were given out to winners and runners-up in a contest held by Nintendo Power magazine. To play the cartridge, one must have a controller connected to both controller ports and press start on the second player's controller. For the competition, there was a special switch that would start all cartridges simultaneously. Both versions of the cartridge feature DIP switches on the front, which can alter the time limit. The Nintendo World Championships 1990 game cartridge is considered to be the rarest and most valuable NES cartridge released, promo cartridges aside,[1] and the gold variation is nicknamed the holy grail of video game collecting[2]. Recently, a grey cartridge went on eBay and sold for a record $6,100, and a gold cartridge was up for sale on eBay with a Buy It Now purchase price of $20,000. In September 2007, another gold cartridge was sold privately, though the price and other information was not disclosed[3]. On April 17th, 2007, a gold cartridge was inadvertently sold by a father who was selling his son's possessions who had died in Iraq on myebid.com. The father was selling 24 cartridges, with no special attention paid to the Nintendo World Championships 1990 cartridge. The listing ended at $21,400[1], though it is unlikely that this amount was actually paid. Collectors have speculated that this listing was not legitimate to begin with, and that the bids may also not have been legitimate[4][5]. To date, of the 26 NWC gold cartridges produced, only 12 copies have ever surfaced. The last copy sold in April 2008 for $15,000 to a collector in New York[6]. The NWC Gold cartridge is often compared to "holy grail" items from other collectible hobbies, such as the T206 Honus Wager baseball card, or Action Comics #1 comic book.
